There was definitely a buzz when The Current went on the air. The Current has been a champion of local music, but we can't forget our other stations like KFAI and Radio K which, in a big way, made it possible for The Current to be here in the first place.
KFAI
90.3 FM Minneapolis and 106.7 FM St. Paul
KFAI is a community-run radio station that's created innovative radio programs for more than 25 years. Plus, its Local Sound Department plays a great mix of local music.

KMOJ
89.9 FM
Touted as the heart and soul of the Twin Cities, KMOJ is the only urban station in this radio market. Hip-hop, R&B and jazz are the mainstays, but this station's greatest feature is how it connects with its listeners.
KVSC
88.1 FM
KVSC is St. Cloud's college and community radio station rolled into one. Monday Night Live has promoted local music for several years.

Radio K
770 AM and 106.5/100.7 FM
Radio K is now somewhat under the radar since the debut of The Current, but this station still has the innovative programming, along with the local and indie music, that might not make it on The Current.

The Current
89.3 FM
We were all wishing for it and it actually happened. Not needing to please advertisers and business interests is proving to be a winning formula for The Current. Hopefully, they'll take more chances musically down the road; aside from the siege of accordions and fiddles during the morning show, The Current's doing a pretty good job.

WMCN
91.7
WMCB is Macalester College's radio station; the staff plays the latest indie recordings, plus a few local tracks here and there - and you can listen to it online.
