I’m as skeptical as anyone else when I encounter countless rave reviews of an album before I actually hear it for myself. I then find myself listening extra-critically, waiting to find fault and be the lone voice of dissent. Unfortunately, America is absolutely the masterpiece that I’d heard it was.
