FRIDAY:

The weekend should seem like a heatwave after all the insane chilling cold of the last few days. On friday night even though it’s not on the Rift Calendar, I hope to be going out to check out Brad Senne, Sam Keenan and David Bruise at Clubhouse Jager. I like all three of these guys music, so it should be cool.

Also on Friday, run over to Spot Art and check out 6 local local artists at the exhibit Spotish.

SATURDAY:

This Saturday also has happening a huge event at First Avenue, in which some great bands are playing to raise money for the medical expenses of Chad Weis. If you don’t know Weis, you should know he is a great guy and one of the original group of seven people who helped start Rift Magazine. He also runs The Devil’s Workshop Studio and is the tour manager/live sound engineer for Mason Jennings and over the years quite a few other bands. Weis had surgery on a nasal condition that was life threatening and his insurance only covered a fraction of the cost. Go to the show and help him out. Since, according to the First Avenue Website the show is sold out. We’ll try to get something where people can donate online as well, I just have to find out how that would work. Band playing include: Mason Jennings, Cloud Cult, Trampled By Turtles, Haley Bonar and The Pines.
